Guide: First Steps

A good start / First steps

Have you joined our Discord and connected to our game server but are still finding your way around? Then this article might help you a little!

In general: You can ask questions in the Discord at any time and we will try to help you as best we can.

If you don't have your own farm yet, feel free to write in the Discord and one of our game server administrators will create your farm for you and promote you to farm manager. You can also invite other friends of yours to the server at any time and either add them to your farm or ask for more farms.

You will automatically receive the set starting fee from the server for your new farm. Independently of this, you can take out a loan of up to €500,000 via your financial administration. Interest will be deducted from your assets every ingame month. With an ongoing loan, your assets may also decrease if you are not on the server yourself.

You can use your money to manage your farm however you like.

Note:

The term “farm” refers to your own administration. A farm does not necessarily have a farmhouse or other buildings. Your “farm” can also be just 1 field at first.

Which fruit to start with

If you have bought your field, there may already be a crop growing on it. If this is not the crop you want to grow yourself later, I would still wait until it is ready to harvest and start harvesting with borrowed equipment.

From my own experience, the following crops are easy and good:

  • Grass (can be harvested several times a year)
  • rape
  • Millet

Alternative to field crops

Greenhouses are a good and simple alternative to field crops. These can also be placed on a field and only require water for production. You can either draw water from a water tank (building) or directly from a shallow spot by the river. You will need a tractor and a trailer for transportation. The most profitable crop to grow in a greenhouse is lettuce. There is no difference in production between foil and glass greenhouses in patch 1.4.

You can either sell directly from the greenhouse or have the panels placed next to your greenhouse and sell them independently. Higher yields can be achieved by selling them independently.

Buy / lease vehicles

At LS25 you can buy or lease vehicles.

Vehicle purchase

When you buy, the vehicles become your property and are fully part of your yard. Ongoing costs here are maintenance/wear and tear and fuel. If you no longer need a vehicle, you can also sell it to the dealer. Depending on the condition of the vehicle, you will get more or less money. **It can be worthwhile to repair a vehicle beforehand and only sell it afterwards.

Leasing vehicles

When leasing or renting a vehicle, you acquire the right to use the vehicle. This means that you are charged initial provisioning costs. Ongoing costs vary depending on the purchase price and are calculated per working day (ingame month) and operating hour. It is worth renting a vehicle for many tasks.

If you accept jobs, you will always be offered the option of hiring the vehicles required for the job. The rental costs are significantly lower than if you rent the vehicles outside of a job. **Attention: Many implements can only be used on the order field!
